Something has always been a bit puzzling to me about Facebook Business Pages. For some reason I had the impression that in order to promote a business (using a Facebook Business Page) you have to create that page as a kind of spinoff from a personal profile.
Seems a little odd that, say, Acme Manufacturing’s Facebook Business Page would have to be associated with some individual at Acme.
Well, it turns out this is not the case – at least not any more. It is possible to create a “free-standing” Business Page. When you’re logged out of your account go to the Facebook signup page and click the little link under the “Sign Up” link at the bottom right.
That gets the ball rolling.
