Have you recently been ripped off by Classmates.com? They are taking old credit and debit card information and billing previous members unauthorized membership payments. I recently had two payments billed to my PayPal account.
This is the very thing that cautious online shoppers are most concerned about. And it is a good reason to use an established, trusted payment handler (like PayPal) so that online merchants do not get direct access to financial information.
I’ve always thought Classmates was a good example of how not to run a social media site, but now I see they have stooped to defrauding people. If you have been victimized in this way, add your comment to any of the online complaint forums like this one – ConsumerAffairs.com. There are suggestions at this forum for getting a refund. It will probably not be easy.
And stay away from Classmates/Memory Lane.
