Get Immediate Traffic with This Article Strategy

We usually think of article writing and distribution as a longer term strategy. But here is a way to leverage your article writing talents to get (almost) immediate traffic.

I just have to mention an article written by Noel Swanson of Unique Article Wizard in which he outlines some tactics for getting significant immediate traffic from article writing. It's lesson 3 in his "Stealth Marketing Tactic" e-course.

The strategy is a departure from the normal way most article marketers now use articles. It involves targeting a small number of actual ezine publishers - ones who are reaching the niche you are after. The object is to get your article published in these ezines - not just in a few hundred article directories, but in a number of ezines that are being sent out on a regular basis to the publisher's list of subscribers. That way you reach your target market directly.

To summarize, Noel says:

- Write a great article with unique content
- Make it as easy as possible to publish (he offers a formatting guide)
- Find some ezine publishers who are likely to publish your article
- Send a personal email message to them offering your article
- Make sure to read some issues of their ezine so you can say nice things like "I really enjoyed your article on blah, blah, blah."
- Offer to sign them up for your affiliate program if you have one
- Give them a better affiliate commission than your standard rate
- Send these personalized email messages out and track the results carefully.

And here is something I would add:

- Offer to give them a unique version that will only be published in their ezine. All you have to do is give it a unique title and do some rewording in each paragraph.

Noel's article also contains many more useful suggestions. I suspect if you follow this formula carefully, you will:

a. Get your article published in some ezines with large readership
b. Get significant immediate traffic
c. Get much more traffic than by submitting your article to hundreds of websites where it will get buried with thousands of others.

Article Writing and Distribution on Steroids

At the same time as trying the "direct" approach mentioned above, you should also kick your article marketing program up a notch by using Unique Article Wizard. Article distribution is still an excellent way to get hundreds of links. But with most ordinary article distribution systems the impact of your articles is being dampened by the duplicate content "penalty" applied by the search engines.

Having all those duplicate articles out there is not nearly as effective as if each of your articles was a unique. Normally when the search engines find hundreds of copies of the same article they only give you link credit for a few of them. But if all your articles are truly unique you stand a much better chance of getting link credit from all of them because they are all recognized as different articles.
